FAQ's
General
Q. How long does it take to fit a wood floor?
A. Approximately 20 square metres can be fitted per day on average. However there are many variables and this is a ball park figure only.
Q. Will you answer my technical questions should I have a problem or need more information?
A. Here at The Flawless Floor Company we are happy to answer any questions you may have on flooring. We give free advice on any technical matter in relation to the products we supply and fit.
Q. What is your pricing policy?
A. Our business was built on fair prices. So count on finding everyday prices that are among the lowest. If you should find a lower advertised price elsewhere - it's simple - we will beat it.
Samples
Q. Can I have samples of the flooring sent to me?
A. Yes, all that is needed is a simple phone call and we shall send you the sample of your choice. Sampling is available from us or direct from our suppliers.
Deliveries
Q. Should I be there on delivery day?
A. Yes. If you can't be there in person, make sure someone is there to direct placement of the piece and to inspect and sign for your merchandise. Missed deliveries can delay your getting your items when you need them.
Q. How long will I have to wait for my order to arrive?
A. Delivery is dependent on stock availability and all things being equal lead times from ordering to fitting can be as little as next day but is more likely to be 2-3 weeks. We do try to accommodate our individual clients' needs.
Q. What time will my order be with me?
A. All deliveries are flexible within technical parameters but, again, it is to suit our client.
Q. I'm not at home that day, can you leave it outside?
A. Because of the nature of the products we sell it is not always possible to leave expensive items unsecured at the delivery address.
Q. What must I do when the goods are delivered?
A. A signature is usually required for delivery items.
Product Types
Q. What is Laminate Flooring?
A. Laminate Flooring is made up of a high-density base, with a photograph of wood on top, coated with an acrylic lacquer. There is no real wood in a laminate board.
Q. How do you identify a quality laminate floor?
A. A truly high quality floor will have a minimum of 4 layers. The top layer (1) would consist of a transparent scratch and stain resistant wear layer, having a higher tabor (wear resistance) value. Next would be the design layer (2), a melamine resin impregnated paper, having various patterns and designs ranging from wood grains to stone, to many more imaginative and decorative type designs. Then would come the core (3), which would be constructed of a high quality, high density fibreboard, manufactured with a water resistant glue. Then the stabilizing layer or balancing layer (4). This layer is also impregnated with melamine resin and is of a thickness to balance the product, thus eliminating "cupping" and "warping".
